Hello,
Spent some time debugging it, so I share my experience:
I use a local http server as installation source for factory. After
yesterday's sync I found, that installation sources are broken,
packages.sk is not available. It turned out, that it's a symlink, and
'AllowSymLinks' is missing from my apache configuration.
This hack is there because Slovak can typically understand Czech package
descriptions and this does not bloat our installation images.
This brings up a few questions:
- the symlink was here since May. Why did not cause it any problem earlier?
This might be there for quite some time (IIRC since some SUSE Linux 9.x)
- why do I need packages.sk at all, when my installation is English and
/ or Hungarian?
This is a wasted 5 MB of RAM, especially on low RAM machines, which I
test. Just checked, over 400MB of swap is used, while earlier alpha
releases used under 300MB. The best was around Alpha3 from this point of
view, if I recall well...
I don't understand :(
Stano
Bye,
CzP
