Re: [OpenWrt-Devel] 802.11h in madwifi code?

2009-11-22 Thread Dennis Borgmann

Hey Harald!

I do have some hardware here to test the functionality. I will first try
out some other madwifi-version of the trunk, but if that doesn't work
out, I will give it a try with the OpenWRT-driver and in that case, I
will report, if it works the way it should, or not.

Kind regards from the western side of Germany,
Dennis

I think this feature is incomplete in the current implementation. There
are some updates in the madwifi-dfs branch on madwifi-project.org, but I
don't know how reliable the feature is in that branch.

Unfortunately, I
don't have the equipment to test this feature.

What do you need to test this?

I remember some old measurements, hinting that some of our nodes are
fully exposed to TXL's radar...

[OpenWrt-Devel] 802.11h in madwifi code?

2009-11-18 Thread Dennis Borgmann

Hello list!

Thanks to Gregers Petersen I am now able to send this mail to the
openwrt-mailing lists as well, so here I go again with my email, that I
sent to the OpenWRT-hackers only in before... Hopefully there is someone
to help me out :-)

Hi OpenWRT-hackers!

First of all - I would like to thank you a whole lot for the work, that
all of you spent in pushing the OpenWRT-project and making it usable for
so many users. Without people like you, there would be no chance for
people over the world to use a wide variety of hardware in professional
or private applications. I really appreciate your work.

I just have on question - I am interested in the madwifi-code, that you
seem to be the only ones who still support it. Within this code, I am
especially interested in the 802.11h-support (DFS - dynamic frequency
hopping and RD - radar detection). Is this feature fully implemented in
your driver? And if so, is there any "howto" on getting this started
once compiled and installed?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards,
Dennis Borgmann

By the way: is there a mailing list, that I could join on OpenWRT?
