[OpenWrt-Devel] [Backfire] opkg.conf pointing to current snapshot packages

2010-03-16 Thread Matthias Buecher / Germany
Just flashed Backfire 10.03-beta for Orion from
http://downloads.openwrt.org/backfire/10.03-beta/orion/ and recognized
that opkg is pointing to
  src/gz snapshots
http://downloads.openwrt.org/snapshots/trunk/orion/packages
instead of
  src/gz backfire
http://downloads.openwrt.org/backfire/10.03-beta/orion/packages

This way people are testing trunk packages and not the backfire beta
packages.

For Orion I would also recommend to use the current state plus kernel
2.6.32.10.

Kind regards

This won't be fixed in the beta images, but I should be fixed for RC1.

I ended up scp'ing particular packages to my test router and installing
them. So I did actually test a few backfire packages of interest.

I changed /etc/opkg.conf to point to the Orion packages but always get

Did you do a opkg update before installing like the errors say to do?

Re: [OpenWrt-Devel] [Backfire] opkg.conf pointing to current snapshot packages

2010-03-16 Thread Matthias Buecher / Germany
Yes, I did. To verify I manually downloaded some packages and compared
their MD5 checksum with the listing in Packages and Packages.gz:

r...@router:/tmp# wget
http://downloads.openwrt.org/backfire/10.03-beta/orion/packages/kmod-ipt-conntrack-extra_2.6.30.10-1_orion.ipk
Connecting to downloads.openwrt.org (78.24.191.177:80)
kmod-ipt-conntrack-e 100% |*.| 10734 --:--:-- ETA
r...@router:/tmp# md5sum kmod-ipt-conntrack-extra_2.6.30.10-1_orion.ipk
c189cac9e4dc9c0ccfbb9390f9578245
kmod-ipt-conntrack-extra_2.6.30.10-1_orion.ipk

Package: kmod-ipt-conntrack-extra
Version: 2.6.30.10-1
Filename: kmod-ipt-conntrack-extra_2.6.30.10-1_orion.ipk
Size: 10734
MD5Sum: ba0a174f7169a0eeabea3efa6482210f

Download works, size fits but MD5 checksum is different.
On my desktop I get the same result for the download as on my router.

I would assume wrong Packages[.gz] uploaded, at least for Orion
