New document generation techniques will be utilized to create the new templates; SSRS will be used to create the new reports. Contractor will work with Bureau of Information Technology staff, and Identified program area personnel, to convert existing authorization and facility based document templates to a new platform. The new Document Generator is based on the Open XML standard format, and utilizes Microsoft Word content controls. The data source for the document generation process will be an xml file. The content controls in the document template will contain an xpath statement which points to the xml file, and retrieve a piece of data, evaluate a condition, or select a set of elements to repeat. After successfully converting the old documents, the contractor will transition to developing queries for new internal and external SSRS reports for the Water Management System (WMS) Project. This will be accomplished by reviewing existing reports that are to be consolidated and re-written against the new data structures in the Oracle Database Management System. Job Duties: Take initiative in performance, working independently and with groups to effectively accomplish project objectives and engage in the following: Identifying, extracting and transforming required data based on business requirements and following data governance standards Manually migrating required data from the legacy system data by analyzing and mapping existing data to a new solution Working closely with legacy data teams and the SI/vendor teams to ensure the right data is migrated Performing detailed data analysis and data profiling supporting the development and implementation of data cleanse/create processes and other strategies that optimize data quality Understanding performance, quality, and schedule considerations Interpreting complex data and communicate it in an effective manner, leveraging advanced reporting techniques Recognizing data patterns, quantify potential issues, and identify solutions Standardizing, harmonizing, cleaning, preparing, and using data for datasets development, reporting, and analysis Providing support to the project team in terms of technical specification and build of Interface and Conversion objects Developing and maintaining enterprise data authoritative ownership and stewardship metadata Communicating and supporting the implementation of corporate policies, standards, and procedures that provide effective architecture, governance, and management of the organization’s information/data assets Developing and maintaining effective and efficient information architecture and data ownership awareness and training programs Monitoring regulatory and compliance guidelines (such as data retention and audit requirements) to determine impact on enterprise information architecture. Required Qualifications: BE or BS Degree in one of the following subject areas: Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Technology or related field preferred. 8+ years Microsoft SQL Server experience; must demonstrated direct experience in the use of MS SQL 2005, 2008, 2008 R2, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, and ErWin Data Modeler. 8+ years IT operation with strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices. Understanding of, and experience with, server-client computing and relational database environments. Experience with data management and data processing flowcharting techniques. Knowledge of reporting and query tools and practices. Good understanding of the organizations goals and objectives. Good interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills Technical documentation skills. Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language. Self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail. Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
