*Position: Oracle DBA Consultant* *Location: Boston, MA* *Duration: 6 - 12+ Months* *VISA Status: No Constraints* *Pay Rate: $Open/hr * *No of Positions: 2* *Position Description:* Responsible for report and query development, performance analysis, database monitoring and tuning, liaising with application vendors, DBAs, and users, acquiring an understanding of the data schema and its content and meaning, and respecting minimal required security levels tenable users to work efficiently but in accordance with established compliance obligations for all Oracle databases within the Automated Fare Collection (AFC) transactional and reporting systems. Covers a broad range of database and instance activities from its schemas down to the SQL code and all the interactions between the databases and the third-party application software. The ideal candidate will be comfortable and confident working ‘under the covers’ and will be focused on providing the optimally performing Oracle environment possible. *General Qualifications:* · Thorough understanding of Oracle 10g and 11g Enterprise Edition Database architecture and concepts · In-depth knowledge of Oracle memory, process, storage, configuration, and resource management, and general instance tuning · Expertise in monitoring and troubleshooting database and application SQL for performance, reliability, availability, capacity, and recoverability · Understanding of Oracle transaction processing, locking and latching, and logging · Understanding of parallel processing and partitioning concepts · Deep understanding of indexing and joining strategies · Knowledge of data warehouse designs and implementations · Expertise in SQL tuning, Plan Management, and manual query optimization · Extensive experience in extracting and analyzing SQL plans and execution statistics · Experience in writing and tuning highly-performance SQL code for database access, modifications, and constructions · Expertise in interpreting and creatively using AWRs, ASH reports, and dynamic performance and history views to tune instances, schemas, and SQL code · Extensive experience with SQL and PL/SQL coding best practices, including the use of subqueries, subquery factoring, analytic functions, etc. · Application/Database development experience · Experience with production support, resolving database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues · Possesses strong analytical and organizational skills · Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills · Demonstrated ability to produce and provide detailed, understandable documentation, including schema and data flow diagrams · Ability ten gage in knowledge transfer with developers, administrators, and other interested parties · Ability to collaborate with the data stewards to ensure policies, definitions, and rules reflect attributes based on industry best practices and customer based business requirements · Ability to perform data integrity and quality audits, developing database administration policies and procedures as needed · Experience with change management processes · Ability to provide after-hours and emergency support *Preferred but not required:* · Oracle Reports 6i (or similar) development · Experience in a Payment Card Industry – Data Security Standards (PCI-DSS) 3.0 environment · Knowledge of Oracle Database Appliances and various Oracle products such as GoldenGate · Knowledge of Oracle Automatic Storage Management (ASM) Regards, *Ramesh,* HYR Global Source Inc | An ERP Consulting Corp Mail to: r...@hyrglobalsource.com Work: *913-660-0755* -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "oraapps" group.
