Job Title: Oracle DBA Location: Houston,TX Duration: 12+ Months Contract Rate: $45-48/hr Maxxx Required Skills: Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or similar area of study. Five years of previous experience required. An additional four years of related experience may substitute for the Bachelor’s degree. Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree and at least five years experience in database analysis, design, and maintenance or working with an Oracle server. Preferred: Oracle Certified Professional or PeopleSoft Certified Professional. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required Advanced knowledge or skills in one or more of the following is required: Knowledge of database analysis, design, and maintenance. Unix and Linux Operating Systems. Supporting (VLB) Very large database leveraging (Oracle partitioning for data management is a plus). Understands infrastructure elements including performance and tuning considerations. Working knowledge of shell scripting for various operating systems. Backup and recovery experience. Knowledge of disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity. Understanding of TCP/IP networking environments Oracle 10g or higher. Experienced with building and support Real Application Clustering on Linux platform. Configuring and supporting Standby and Data Guard technology. Experience in negotiating issues to resolution. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities that Contribute to Success May require advanced skills in one or more of the following: Oracle Data Replication, PL/SQL programming, Korn Shell programming, Oracle RAC, Data Guard. Strong problem solving and communication skills. SQL knowledge a plus. Self Motivated and multi-tasking individual that works well in a team environment. Ability to build relationships with peers and customers, Demonstrate a customer-service centered service delivery approach. Knowledge of ERP software. Proficiency with backup or monitoring tools. Please make sure that the Consultant's skills and experience match the requirement before submitting the resume Job Title: Oracle DBA Location: Des Moines,IA Duration: 6+ Months Contract Required Skills: Providing training to data warehouse and other staff on Oracle query language, building automated processes, building stored procedures, and creating data extracts using multiple tables from a highly normalized database. Develop complex data extracts from the ELIAS system. We have several systems that will need ELIAS data and this person will work with various groups to define, design, and develop flattened data extracts that will, via automated processes, move from the ELIAS environment to the mainframe on a daily basis. Experience with both traditional application database design and dimensional database modeling for design support structures. Experience developing automated data extract packages from source transactional systems to decision-support databases (normalized and dimensionalized) Experience with Oracle decision support tools. Experience working with team members and providing training on Oracle SQL query language.
