Position Overview The client has a number of projects that they need help with currently. The client is looking for a well rounded Database candidate that can help build out the DB and DW environment. This is a highly transactional (OLTP) environment. The candidate will work closely with the Application development teams and provide DBA support to the APPS DB.. The candidate will participate in all phases of project including analysis, design, development, testing and deployment. The candidate should possess excellent communication skills as they will be interacting with the application team, BA’s and other developers. This position is based in the NY Metro area. Required Skills: 8-10 years IT industry experience. 5 years of strong experience with PL/SQL and with developing complex SQL queries on large projects. High transactional environment Development experience in Oracle 10g/11g environment on UNIX/ Linux. Strong database design skills. UNIX shell scripting. Experience with entity modeling tools like ERStudio. Excellent communication skills, able to present to senior management and non-technical clients. Good understanding of relational database concepts. Ability to work with Application development teams on support issues. Excellent analytical and communication skills.
