ColdFusion developer who is especially good at user interfaces. The person
would work with clients product development folks to determine the best and
most concise step-through process to configure a new product family that
client will introduce later this year. So they are looking for good
ColdFusion skills (but no guru-type ColdFusion work - just database
interactions, math, etc.). And someone with a good eye for clean interfaces,
good experience working with non-technical folks who know their product, so
the end result would be very clear screens that ask all necessary questions
in the shortest path possible and clearly communicate progress to the
customer along the way. It MAY involve labels on existing graphics to better
show what was selected (dimensions, mostly). In the resulting configuration
tool, a "shopping cart" of sorts would follow the user during configuration,
and when all is said and done the final steps would be:

- transfer the appropriate data into our normal e-com shopping cart

- send the customer an email confirming all choices for the configuration

- dump out of the configuration tool into the normal cart view on our site

 The project will certainly require a lot of onsite work. Part of the
initial phase especially is coming up with the best interface flow and
learning from the P.D. specialists just how the math is to be handled, what
are the dependencies as the product is configured (i.e. if you buy part A
you need to buy 3 of part B), and what feedback do we want to deliver to the
customer along the way. When the code-pounding work begins that could be
offsite and could probably fit around other projects the developer has. So,
in other words, if we kick it off on Oct. 1, that leaves 8 weeks or so to
finish. During that 8 weeks I expect the developer would use nothing close
to 8x40 hours - it's not that large a project as I see it.

*Job Description*

- role is through their current contract end date of June 2012. all
indications are that the contract will be extended and if this happens this
role would be extended for another year into 2013.

The Lead Java Developer/Designer will be responsible for execution of the
more complex functional and technical requirements into application code,
primarily using Java, JSP and SQL. The Lead Java Developer/Designer will
need to be able to both lead technical design sessions with the client as
well as deliver code and will be seen as the "go-to" developer. This role
will be responsible for completing/reviewing functional and technical design
documents, ensuring all Unit Tests are complete, application code readiness,
conducting peer reviews and assisting with system test execution. The Lead
Java Developer/Designer will need to understand when to escalate any scope
creep or schedule issues to the Delivery Lead, and will need to understand
the business, functional and technical requirements well enough to assess
their feasibility (given the underlying architecture and release schedule).
This role will be responsible for some estimation, resource
loading/leveling, risk/issue management, scope management, and
work-planning.

*Required Skills*

Quick learner/self-starter; ability to lead a team of developers to deliver
according to functional and technical requirements; ability to interpret
complex design requirements; Relational database, XML, Java, JSP and SQL;
experience with SSH/Telnet. Experience with SVN version control system and
maintaining Ant build scripts.

*Optional Skills*

Knowledge/use of application servers, Eclipse IDE, Hibernate, Unix (Solaris)
shell scripting, CruiseControl build management tool; SCM experience highly

Qualifications
