Job Overview:
The project will involve development in the Unemployment Compensation 
Benefits system at the MDOL. 
The Benefits system is a critical legacy system that provides MDOL with the 
capability to register individuals for unemployment insurance benefits and 
to disburse those benefits.
This is technical work involving the development of complex computer 
programs.
Responsibilities will include designing, coding, testing, debugging, and 
documenting application programs.
NEED to have strong Oracle Forms development from blank screen.
-Years of Relevant Experience: 10 plus years
-Preferred Education: 4-year college degree or equivalent technical study 
with advanced study preferred.

Role Description:
- Proven track record of hands-on technical design and code work within 
large complex systems.
- Proven hands-on technical work with a variety of technologies.
- Demonstrated technical expertise integrating a variety of diverse 
technical environments and cross-platform technologies.
- Ability to make best practice recommendations based on past work.
- Proven ability to collaborate with business users, project managers, and 
technical architects.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment AND meet w/ end users to 
create, write and develop the Technical specs.

Work Breakdown:
- Coding/testing for new functionality for the current applications, using 
Oracle PL/SQL and Oracle Forms - 50%
- Collect and document business functional requirements - 25%
- Design: database changes and new software modules - 25%
- Advanced Web Services  PL/SQL work

Position Overview:
Great opportunity for an Oracle PL/SQL Developer!  The candidate selected 
for this position will work closely with existing Technical leads, and 
 PL/SQL developers on system design, coding, system testing, and 
transformations based on the data models developed for the new systems. 
 This position requires experience working in an agile environment, with a 
passion for continuous improvement, efficiency, and excellence.  Candidates 
for this position must be very effective working with others—including 
other technical resources, the business, QA, and management.  Effective 
leadership and mentoring skills are a must.  All candidates must possess

Requirements:
Ø  Understanding of Data Modeling techniques and best practices
Ø  Must have strong Oracle PL/SQL programming skills
Ø  Data warehousing and Oracle 10g/11g experience is required

Ø  In-depth knowledge of relational database design and database management 
systems
Ø  Experience with Hyperion 8/9 preferred
Ø  Experience with projects involving conversion of large batch processes 
to PL-SQL is preferred

Essential Functions:
Ø  Serving as a lead PL/SQL developer, this person will work closely with 
existing Technical leads, ETL developers, and BI developers on tasks 
involving system design, data cleansing, transformation and aggregation 
based on the data models developed for the new systems 
Ø  Support architecture efforts by following and adhering to the standards 
set forth by the Information Architecture group and maintain the integrity 
of application architecture
Ø  Maintain data integration, data distribution and correct issues as they 
arise
Ø  Provide mentoring and knowledge transfer of PL/SQL skills to existing 
staff
Ø  Work with Business Analysts to understand the business requirements
Ø  Provide technical work estimates and task breakdown
Ø  Participate in peer code reviews and provide support to QA/Prod during 
the test/migration process

Experience:
Ø  Experience with relational database design and database management 
systems (Oracle, MS SQL Server, DB2 UDB etc.); 
Ø  Knowledge and experience with TOAD and PL/SQL programming.
