*Here is the Job Description*: *Sr. Java Developer (Must have 8+ years exp.)East Haven, CT12+ Months Contract* *Job Responsibilities*: Job Summary: enhance existing multi-tier J2EE web application and optimize the design/technology/software for both performance and scalability The role of the Sr. Java Software Engineer is to work with Technical Lead on large heterogeneous data backend applications that include several data sources, a number of servers, developed and run by distributed international team. Linux based programming environment and workstation. Successful applicant will be responsible to work directly with Manager, Search platform on technical feasibility, design, implementation, production release, documentation and communication with other teams. *Education and Previous Experience*: • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience in software development • 8+ years of overall experience *Relational database*: o 5+ years of experience in Oracle/Postgres and database DML & DDL • Required Operating Systems: 2+ years of experience in Unix, Linux environment (no GUI), all aspects of the programming, scripting, ability to work with ssh, vi/emacs *Web servers*: o 3+ years of experience in Apache Tomcat and minimum 1+ year of experience in Apache Tomcat version 5.0 and above with skills to administrate server properties, debug, and deploy multi tier web applications o 1+ years of experience in Apache HTTP server and its administration with the knowledge of cache, memory cache, rewrite and redirect rules; • 3+ years of experience in source version tools SVN with deep knowledge of SVN external properties, branching and merging. • Ability to understand quickly the entire system and all of its interactions, and able to tackle macro problems and dive into the different parts of the system effectively as necessary on short notice • Ability to work in a team environment *Knowledge & Skills*: • 4+ years in hibernate and ANT. o 8+ years of experience in Core Java (including Generics),J2EE, o 3+ years of experience XML and XSLT o 2+ years of experience in Unix shell scripting with BASH and KSH shell, AWK and GAWK *Other skills**:* • Must be a self-starter, and able to work independently with minimal supervision and also should have the ability to mentor 2+ team members • Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Must have strong decision-making skills. • Must be a Team player, with strong reasoning skills, who is able to effectively influence others, and who possesses excellent collaboration skills. • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. • Must be comfortable working with senior level Client management on a daily basis • Must have Excellent verbal and written communication skills Best Regards, Sam Nelson Resource Development Manager GM InfoTech LLC.
