Need: System Engineer Duration: 4 months Location: N.Virginia/DC Metro area Rate: $40hr/hr on C2C US Citizens Only Will need to in-person interview for the position Maintain continuous availability of the system(s) by performing upgrades, migrations, and maintenance to operation systems and other middleware program products. Daily, and on-call, system support providing problem determination and resolution for installed systems software and data center hardware. Daily configuration and tuning of systems and applications. This may include: Windows Server, Linux, and Cisco IOS Maintain knowledge of vendor's current hardware and software products Prepare recommendations on upgrades to the environment for management Work with internal / external auditors to evaluate system security Write system policies and procedures. The following skills are necessary for this role: Bachelors Degree in MIS, Comp. Sci. or related field or equivalent technical/vocational certification or experience. 4 to 6 years industry experience as a System Administrator or similar function At least one vendor endorsed system certification (Cisco, Microsoft, Novell, IBM, etc) Knowledge of the following platforms: Cisco IOS, Microsoft Windows Server, or LINUX.
