*Software Quality Assurance EngineerLocation: Indianapolis, IN Duration of
project: 6 + months Contract*
*REQUIRED:*
At least 3 years of professional experience as a Software Quality Assurance
Engineer (Software Testing experience).
Strong knowledge creating test plans, test cases (user stories), defect
reports, quality assurance summaries. Design test plans, scenarios,
scripts, or procedures
Ability to test system modifications to prepare for implementation.
Develop testing programs that address areas such as database impacts,
software scenarios, regression testing, negative testing, error or bug
retests, or usability.
Visual Studio 2005 – 2010
Working knowledge of the software design lifecycle, agile methodology and
end to end testing process
Understanding of Object Oriented Design concepts
Experience using SQL server (2005/2008) client tools
Multi-browser and operating system testing experience
*DESIRED:*
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or closely
related field; preferably hold active certifications such as ISTQB, CSTE,
CSQA
Experience with SOAP and API's would be very helpful
Experience testing ASP.NET, C#, JQuery, REST, XML and SOAP, ability to
quantify source code a plus
Prior experience on a language conversion project a plus
Exposure to double byte character testing a plus
Source control knowledge TFS experience is a plus, as well as all MS
applications
Exposure to Japanese language a plus
*Top Skills:*
Creating exploratory test cases/scripts (What company has right now is not
complete). SQL background/ability to write queries preferred. The more
technical skills this person has from a testing perspective the better in
the managers’ eyes. Experience with SOAP and API's would be very helpful.
Solid communication skills are a must have.
*DESCRIPTION:*
Seeking a Software Quality Assurance Engineer to play a pivotal role in a
project to convert an application into the Japanese language. You will work
closely with developers and end users on the team to define product test
requirements, as well as, validate these requirements within the
development process. As a team member you will join a group of designer,
developers and test engineers who are experts in the latest software
development technologies, including .NET, Web Services and XML.
The SQA test team member will work to create a new test harness, automate
testing, implement new automation tools and create innovative test systems.
These test systems will explore and validate the functional correctness,
performance capabilities, security and resource usage of our software. In
addition, the test team will engage in infrastructure testing and
interaction with external applications.
*RESPONSIBILITIES:*Build test suite based on design specifications,
requirements, wireframes in an agile environment based on sprint planning
and short release cycles
Develop a test strategy to test complicated system changes by working with
development
Notify development of all identified issues found as a result of testing
Retest all remediated problems corrected by development
Document software defects, using a bug tracking system, and report defects
to software developers.
Identify, analyze, and document problems with program function, output,
online screen, or content.
Monitor bug resolution efforts and track successes.
Plan test schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope or
delivery dates.
Participate in product design reviews to provide input on functional
requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems.
Review software documentation to ensure technical accuracy, compliance, or
completeness, or to mitigate risks.
