I have recreated password file many times to no avail. Usually this all I have had to do in the past for this error. I have tried all combinations of remote_login_passwordfile. I was getting connected earlier. I had to a shutdown but cannot get server up. Luckily it is a relatively used development server. Any ideas on how to correct? After you create a new password file, stop and restart the sid service via oradim or through nt services This happens here from time to time, not sure why, but the above works bob -- Please see the official ORACLE-L FAQ: http://www.orafaq.com -- Author: Bob Metelsky INET: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Fat City Network Services-- (858) 538-5051 FAX: (858) 538-5051 San Diego, California-- Public Internet access / Mailing Lists To REMOVE yourself from this mailing list, send an E-Mail message to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] (note EXACT spelling of 'ListGuru') and in the message BODY, include a line containing: UNSUB ORACLE-L (or the name of mailing list you want to be removed from).
