Oracle RMAN (OmniBack) Backup Encryption
Hi all, I have a "weird" question. Do you have any experience how to encrypt the backup. Let's say I have following backup method in use: RMAN on UNIX box. I will use online backup and copy the backup set(s) either to the disk or the tape using OmniBack. How I can encrypt the backup sets either to the disks or to direct to the tape using OmniBack. Automate an update
Hi all, I need help in order to create a following "mechanism". I have a table where is a column called window_open and it has two values 'Y' and 'N' Now I need to automate the update a single row based on following rules: If time is between 08:00-16:00 the value on that window_open column should be 'Y' during other period the value should be 'N'. I am using Windows NT and I don't know how to pass a password to lsnrctl -utility when I am doing like this lsnrctl reload PASSWORD. All tips are welcome... Oracle Expert Fails
Hi all, I noticed an interesting error, I tried to use Oracle Expert in order to tune my database but it won't go further after noticing some temporary tables, and actually Expert asked to delete those objects. Oracle 9i 32bit and 64bit on the same server
Hi all, I have a following problem I hope you could help me: I have an UNIX box (Solaris8) where I have installed 9iRel2 64 bit software, also I have created two instances using that 64 bit version. Now we are also having an application which needs 32 bit 9i client software on the same server. The user who owns this application also needs every now and then shutdown and start the instances. How I should configure the profile of this application user. I have an oracle -account who "owns" the instances and the application user is also in dba -group. Urgent: Trigger problem...
Could someone help me with this. I have a trigger in one table and the trigger should do one unix -command (tclsh). However I am facing following problem... OS return value: the Permission (java.io.FilePermission /usr/local/ActiveTcl/bin/tclsh execute) has not been granted to TEST. The PL/SQL to grant this is dbms_java.grant_permission( 'TEST', 'SYS:java.io.FilePermission', '/usr/local/ActiveTcl/bin/tclsh', 'execute' ) I ran the dbms_java.grant_permission pl/sql and it went through succesfully, however I am facing same problem... Any ideas, I am using 9iRel2... Hi all, I received quite interesting error during import. I am trying to put the dump from 8.1.6 database to 9i rel2 database on win2k server. The export dump was done with WE8ISO8859P1 character set and the target db is with UTF8 character set... Do you have any idea, or should I contact oracle support! Connections with WebLogic (5.1) and Oracle 8.1.7 on Solaris
Hi all, we are facing strange problems with our environment. we are using weblogic and solaris8 with 8.1.7.3. It seems that somehow amount of cumulative connections is getting extremely high and it seems that WL is doing db connection each time user clicks the aplication. Is there any parameter on oracle side causing this. We have tested this with two similar environment and other seems to work ok and other does generate these connections but we do not find any reason for the different behaviour... Any ideas...
