If my tablespace became so big that it had 3 datafiles and became so fragmented, then I export and import the whole databse, how can I tell if the REORG only used up one or two datafiles. OR is there a utility to see contents of a datafile? Inside the trigger try to determine IP address of
the current session using the following sikvel:
select sys_context('USERENV', 'IP_ADDRESS') from dual;
I haven't tryed this policy yet but I believe it should work.

Can I import a database from NT which was exported from AIX RS6000 servers? Do I just move the expdat.dmp (exported output) from AIX to NT and simply use the export/import utilities? RE: reset control, redo, logs etc
That is correct! I should NOT have said 'COLD' back up because that could be an ORACLE term. I just backed-up the files using the OS and I'm really not interested in current data. Can I bypass these control files? I know I can drop redo logs. If my database was not shutdown before a cold backup was made, how do I bring it back up skipping (or resetting) ctl, headers etc. Is this possible?
