about ops on linux

 Recently I installed ops  
 ( oracle 8.1.7.0.1) on
 linux ( redhat 6.2).  
 Unfortunately, everytime  
 I ran ocmstart.sh, the
 system crashed.   
 I'm sure I've did all 
 needed to be done 
 according to the  
 documents.
 Any suggestions?

ops on linux

Has anyone here installed ops on linux? ( oralce 8.1.7.0.1)
I just could not start the related daemons by using
$ORACLE_HOME/oracm/bin/ocmstart.sh.
The machine just hanged every time I ran ocmstart.sh.

Any suggestions?

can not create database by dbassist

solaris 2.7 + oracle 8.1.6 ( 64-bit)

After I installed the oracle software, I tried to create  a  database by
dbassist.
But dbassist exited at finial step with 'segmentation violation' error and
thread dump;
Oracle support told me that it has relations with os enviroment and it does
happen sometime.
I now had to create the database manually .
Any suggestions?
