Are you trying to connect across a firewall? Also can you ping both
directions client -> server, server -> client?

Hi,
I am getting a ORA-12535 timeout error when connecting to server. I
can
tnsping Ok. The environment is Oracle 8.1.6 using NET8 on Win NT.

determine cause of error.
