RE: 817

2002-03-12 Thread James A

That should be patch if you got it off Oracle site. The base release is
Oracle 8.1.7.0.0. Release 3 is the approved patch which brings you to
8.1.7.3.0.
If you want further info search Oracle Metalink.

good luck.

RE: 817

2002-03-12 Thread Peter . McLarty

Sorry 8.1.7.Release 3 is in fact 8.1.7.0.0. The Release 3 is the third
release of 8i
8.1.5 Release 1
8.1.6 Release 2
8.1.7 Release 3

If you go to Metalink and select patches you can search for the Patches
for your platform. There you will find the Patch 3 for your platform, if
it is available

Cheers

You may want to connect as ctxsys and query the user_libraries view
to make sure the library paths are pointing to your new 8.1.7 Oracle_home.
Just a thought.

Also - I ran into this problem on hp/ux: you may have to create the library hard coded with the oracle home path. REferencing $ORACLE_HOME (in user_libraries) did not work.
