Mitchell, We have both 32 bit and 64 bit Oracle 817 running on Solaris 7. The easiest way is --- When you log onto SQL, then you would get a message similar to following: Oracle8i Enterprise Edition Release 8.1.7.0.0 - 64 bit production Now, if you are running 32 bit version, you get the following message Oracle8i Enterprise Edition Release 8.1.7.0.0 - Production Please observe that the above message is not telling whether it is 32 or 64. But for 64 bit, the message specifically tells you. The SQL*Plus banner will display if using 64bit. If it does not say '64bit' then it's 32bit. Here is what I get with 9.0.1 64-bit on HP-UX: Connected to: Oracle9i Enterprise Edition Release 9.0.1.0.0 - 64bit Production With the Partitioning option JServer Release 9.0.1.0.0 - Production I do not have 8.1.x in 64-bit but I think the same thing would be true there as well.
