Re: PMON CRASHED INSTANCE

2002-01-31 Thread Ashoke Mandal

Hi All,

I had almost the same situation. My production database crashed by itself with the
following errors:

PMON: terminating instance due to error 600
ORA-07445: exception encountered: core dump [kghispih()+56] [SIGSEGV] [Address not
mapped to object] [97812236] [] []
ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [17148], [2263082536], [], [], [], [], [],
[]

Oracle 8.1.6.3.0
Sun Solaris 5.6

Any idea.

Thanks,
Ashoke

RE: PMON CRASHED INSTANCE

2002-01-30 Thread Kevin Lange

I had the same occurance on an 8.0.5 database. We had a long job running ,
also a trucate, that was killed. When this happened the database core
dumped and died. We looked it up on Metalink and found that it was a known
error with that version of the database. It appears to happen with heavy IO
intensive operations.

Its too bad you have the same error on 8.1.6. I hope its fixed in 8.1.7
because thats where we are heading to.
