It's free if you use it simply for Net8...in replace of Oracle Names.  If
you want to use it for the other features...user authentication, etc...then
you need to pay.  I would contact Oracle for current pricing.  When I last
checked...you could purchase licensing based upon the number of entries in
the Directory.

OID is free for Enterprise licensees if and only if you store Oracle account 
information in it and nothing else.  Once you branch out it becomes very expensive.  
We looked at it to help manage part of the grid.  

If you haven't heard the term grid  before.  Search the web for National Technology 
Grid, which deals with computing power and the sharing therof.
