RE: environmental variables
Lyuda, I have exactly these type of environmental files on my NT server. The PATH on the NT server is altered to include the directory where these files exist. I have one file for each database instance on each server. For example, the listing below is the WTWD.BAT file (representing the WTWD database). Notice all of the environmental values that will point me to various DBA directories, as well as RMan common settings. Because it is a .BAT file, I call it from varois jobs to set the correct environmental values. Nothing new here - this stuff has been available in Unix forever. Just doing the same thing in NT. Hope this helps. @rem ** @remFile Name : WTWD.BAT @remPurpose : This file will establish environmental @remvariables required for the above named database @reminstance. @rem @rem ** @echo off @SET ORACLE_HOME=C:\Oracle\ora817 @SET RORACLE_HOME=C:\Oracle\ora816 @SET PATH=%roracle_home%\bin;%path% @SET TMP=C:\TEMP @SET TEMP=C:\TEMP @set dbtype=8i @set dbversion=817 @rem @rem - @rem Rman Settings @rem - @SET RMAN_SID=R816 @set rmanuser=(rman user) @set rmanpw=(rman password) @rem @rem DatabaseFile Settings @rem @set rman_DB_Setsize=222 @set rman_DISKF='df_%%U_%%t' @rem @rem Archivelog Settings @rem @set rman_DISKA='al_%%U_%%t' @set rman_AL_Setsize=2000 @set rman_AL_Filesperset=100 @rem @rem Control File Settings @set rman_CTLF='ctl_%%U_%%t' @rem @set rman_blksize=2097152 @rem @rem - @rem Database Settings @rem - @rem @SET ORACLE_SID=WTWD @set dba_root=w:\dba @set dba_home=%dba_root%\%oracle_sid% @set dba_log=%dba_home%\log @set dba_temp=%dba_home%\temp @set dba_scripts=%dba_root%\scripts @set rmantapes=1 @set paccount=sys @set pinternal=(sys password) Tom Mercadante Oracle Certified Professional -Original Message- Sent: Monday, August 20, 2001 4:37 PM To: Multiple recipients of list ORACLE-L John, may be it is a dump question.. but... there are certain directories my variables would go under. RE: environmental variables
Lyuda, I do it all the time. Not exactly what type of environmental you want to create, but you can always do something like: echo set oracle_sid=Prod > setsid.bat call setsid.bat Is this what you mean? I do this as well as echo sql commands to an output file, and run the sql thru sqlplus. It allows me to create a variable sql text, fiddling with the 'where clause' when I need to. What specifically do you need to do?
