SCOPE OF PROJECT

 

Summary:

Working under the direction of the South Carolina Enterprise Information
System (SCEIS) Architecture, Design and Technology Lead, candidates will
provide functional/technical consulting services related to the design,
development, testing, and support of SAP Business Warehouse software,
specifically related to HR/Payroll, which is currently being implementing
across South Carolina State government.  The major components of SAP
included are finance, budgeting, materials management, supplier relationship
management, human resources and payroll modules.

 

The SAP Functional/Technical Consultant must have in-depth knowledge of
Business Warehouse and Business Intelligence functionality of the SAP
software with experience utilizing this software for HR/Payroll, preferably
in public sector organizations.

The SAP Functional/Technical Consultant must have extensive knowledge of
integration points within the SAP software, be able to define and develop
standard and custom Data Extractors, InfoCubes and DataStores using
extraction, transformation, loading (ETL), and be able to develop reports
using Business Warehouse tools.

SAP Functional/Technical Consultant must have extensive knowledge developing
such Data extractors, InfoCubes, DataStores and reports for HR/Payroll
Modules of SAP.  

The SAP Functional Consultant should have knowledge of other Business
Warehouse performance tools.  Public sector experience is highly desired.

 

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

. Participate with senior managers, as appropriate, to
develop/refine implementation strategy for Business Warehouse and Business
Intelligence

. Work closely with users to analyze business requirements and
develop functional specifications

. Work closely with other BW team members to design, define, and
develop data extractors, transformations, InfoCubes, DataStores, etc. for
HR/Payroll

. Conduct and demonstrate leadership during the Integration
Testing of the Business Warehouse functionality of SAP

. Resolve SAP defects via SAP OSS (Online Support System) and
system errors via a working knowledge of the integration with other SAP
modules

. Aid in the development of the training curriculum, guides,
checklist and courses 

. Provide in-depth knowledge of and extensive hands-on
experience with SAP BW, with a concentration in data modeling and data
warehouse design for HR/Payroll

. Provide extensive experience with Business Explorer Analyzer,
Browser and Query Designer 

. Provide experience in designing and implementing both BEx and
Web Reports and templates 

. Provide detailed knowledge of BW architectural and system
components, with an in-depth knowledge of how to balance design to achieve
desired performance goals with low TCO (total cost of ownership) 

. Provide in-depth knowledge BW Administrator Workbench objects
like DSOs, InfoProviders, Multi-providers, InfoSets, Transformations, and
maintaining Process Chains

. Provide detailed knowledge of data extraction from both SAP
R/3, SRM and non-SAP systems 

. Have ability to create custom DataSources

. Have experience in ABAP to write custom codes for
transformations, enhancing DataSources and custom variables for reports

. Be able to optimize performance of  BW using aggregates,
indexing and compression

. Demonstrate experience with BW technical content 

. Provide extensive experience in the use of various BW
performance tools, such as RSRV, RSRTRACE, ST03, ST04

. Provide knowledge of Reporting Agent, Pre-Calculated Queries,
Off- Line Reporting and Information Broadcaster

. Provide knowledge of SAP Business Objects and integration with
BW

.

The Infrastructure Architecture position is in the Internet Services

site, the secure sites, and supporting back end systems.  Infrastructure
Architects are responsible for the infrastructure architecture designs,
capacity planning, design governance, technology evaluation and analysis,

retail web site applications.  The Architects collaborate with the security
and audit teams to implement and address the ever changing needs of each
application.  

 

Primary Job Responsibilities for the Database Infrastructure Architect This
individual must demonstrate Technical Architectural Leadership, playing a
vital role in the design of Wells Fargo's secure online infrastructure
running in 24x7x52 environment. They must deliver designs that meet project
requirements, are on time, and are on budget. Specifically this individual
needs to create standards and go forward designs for the Database layouts
and tuning, File system layout and vendor technologies, Storage use and I/O
tuning, Geographical Database Replication,  High Availability, and ability
to meet Service Level Agreements (SLA) and Recovery Time and Point
Objectives (RTO/RPO).  

Analyze business and technical requirements to determine database design,
potential issues, and related cost for each project request. Contribute
significantly to feature prioritization and systems architecture. 

Review Requirement Documents, and develop implementation strategies that
preserve the availability, performance, integrity, stability, and
scalability of site systems and designs, consistent with cost (Capital and
Labor) constraints. 

Produce design documents to effectively handover infrastructure architecture
to other Operations departments for successful systems engineering and
implementation. 

Develop design standards and guidelines, and mentor other architects and
engineers on best practices. 

Demonstrate expertise and leadership in problem solving expertise. Work with
Business Analysts, Web Engineers, Network Engineers, Systems Administrators,
Applications Developers, Architects, Data Base Administrators, Operations
persons, and Software Vendors to prevent or solve difficult performance
problems. 

Interact with internal and external technical leaders to develop innovative
solutions that meet market needs with respect to availability,
functionality, performance, reliability, repeatability, and scalability. 

Facilitation and team-building skills at all levels. Ability to influence,
train, mentor and leverage the skills of others, including business partners
and technical team. 

Contribute to the selection, prototype, and implementation of 3rd party

 Designed/Architected and Highly Available Databases.

 Designed/Architected replication for Databases across WANs.

 Understand the latest Oracle, MSQL, DB2, etc to design the up and coming
databases to use the latest features and product sets.  

 Participated or Lead non-functional specification gathering for design,
capacity planning, and performance predictions.  

 Ability to lead engineers in understanding new processes for databases as
it applies to all preproduction and production environments.  

 Knowledge of the Industry options and current working experience with:

o Distributing customer traffic across multiple data centers and tiers of
systems.

Primary Job Responsibilities for the Database Infrastructure Architect This
individual must demonstrate Technical Architectural Leadership, playing a
vital role in the design of Wells Fargo's secure online infrastructure
running in 24x7x52 environment. They must deliver designs that meet project
requirements, are on time, and are on budget. Specifically this individual
needs to create standards and go forward designs for the Database layouts
and tuning, File system layout and vendor technologies, Storage use and I/O
tuning, Geographical Database Replication,  High Availability, and ability
to meet Service Level Agreements (SLA) and Recovery Time and Point
Objectives (RTO/RPO).  

Analyze business and technical requirements to determine database design,
potential issues, and related cost for each project request. Contribute
significantly to feature prioritization and systems architecture. 

Review Requirement Documents, and develop implementation strategies that
preserve the availability, performance, integrity, stability, and
scalability of site systems and designs, consistent with cost (Capital and
Labor) constraints. 

Produce design documents to effectively handover infrastructure architecture
to other Operations departments for successful systems engineering and
implementation. 

Develop design standards and guidelines, and mentor other architects and
engineers on best practices. 

Demonstrate expertise and leadership in problem solving expertise. Work with
Business Analysts, Web Engineers, Network Engineers, Systems Administrators,
Applications Developers, Architects, Data Base Administrators, Operations
persons, and Software Vendors to prevent or solve difficult performance
problems. 

Interact with internal and external technical leaders to develop innovative
solutions that meet market needs with respect to availability,
functionality, performance, reliability, repeatability, and scalability.

*Title: Business Objects Architect
Location: Washington DC
Duration: 6 months*

*Need someone with at least 4 years of team lead experience as well as
overall 8 years of BO development experience*

This candidate will have experience with BI front-end tool SAP's Business
Objects. This candidate should have in-depth knowledge of data warehousing
and business intelligence concepts. Also has experience and understanding of
BI data modeling and designs, ETL activities, complexities and tools, task
estimation and project management, and database design and performance
issues. Also has experience on multiple platforms including versions of UNIX
and Windows and ERP solutions.

Ideally the candidate has experience with SAP BW and operational reporting
includes:
* Technical hands-on expertise using OLAP tool Business Objects XIR2/XIR3
(Reports, Designer, Web Intelligence, Info view , and Supervisor)
* Expertise in working on Web Intelligence Universe Designer, Crystal 2008,
Crystal Xcelsius and SDK.
* Experience in Universe designing, developing and generating complex,
Adhoc, dashboard Reports, Business views, LOV, complex measure using
functions, complex logical counts, and averages.
* Expertise in Business Objects reporting functionalities such as Master
Detailed, Slice and Dice, Drilling methodology, Filters, Ranking, Sections,
Graphs and Breaks.
* Well experienced in writing Complex queries, stored procedures, functions,
and packages using PL/SQL Programming.
* Experience in integrating BO into an applications (such as Java GUI
applications).
* Experience presenting, comparing, architecting solutions among one or many
of these BI suites in varied industries

*Qualifications:*
* Lead and contribute to all phases of the software development cycle for
the applications owned by this team. This includes both current production
and new applications. In particular:
* Provide expert consultation to current technical staff.
* Consult with clients to define and document requirements.
* Participate in the design of larger applications.
* Design, develop, and unit test components needed for larger applications.
* Work with the project manager and other developers to integrate components
into larger applications.
* Help the Quality Assurance team develop application-level testing plans.
* Other duties as assigned. .

retrieve data from the existing Corporations Oracle database.*

*2.  Troubleshooting problems with the existing Corporations Oracle
client/server system using the Oracle Development tools including Oracle
Reports Developer version 6i and Oracle Forms Developer version 6i and
Oracle Designer version 6i .  *

*3.  Modifying the existing Corporations Oracle database and Corporations
Oracle systems as needed and directed by system users to assure compliance
with changes in Legislation.*

*4.  Participate with team members, using fundamental principles, theories,
techniques and methodologies of data processing to gather and analyze facts,
define problems and devise solutions.*

*5.  Establish and maintain effective relationships with system users and
team members.*

*6.  Assist in and conduct client interviews to gather and document system
requirements and software specifications for DLEG/Corporation rewrite
project.*

*7.  Use Oracle APEX to design screen prototypes and document software
specifications.*

*8.  Design a relational database management system (RDBMS) which satisfies
the documented business requirements.*

*9.  Working as part of the project team using project management
methodology, create and document data conversion routines which insert data
from the existing Oracle system into the newly created database(s).*

*10. Document all developed processes, also perform transfer of knowledge to
other team members.*
