Summary:
The Data Architect is responsible for developing 3NF and dimensional data
models to support operational reporting and Business Intelligence systems.
This individual will be part of a dynamic team that builds and implements
Data Warehouse solutions that serve as key decision support systems for the
leadership of the company.  A key for success in this role is a unique blend
of technical skills, business knowledge, and strong interpersonal
communication skills. This role provides the opportunity to work with a
global view of the entire Client business.  

Technical:
DBMS:   SQL Server 2008 R 2, Oracle 10g 
Languages:  SQL, T-SQL, oracle PL/SQL 
Operating Systems:   Linux, Unix, Windows
ERP (Basis admin):  SAP R/3 4.6C, 4.5B, ECC 
Tools/Utilities:   Sybase Power Designer, Cognos 10.1, Toad ,SQL Server
Management Studio, Oracle SQL Developer

Expectations: 
Ø Data modeling and architecture experience implementing proper data
structures for a reporting solution from enterprise OLTP systems
Ø 3NF and Dimensional modeling architecture experience implementing proper
data structures for a reporting solution from an enterprise data warehouse
and operational reports development a must preferably using tools reporting
such as Cognos, Microsoft, and/or other BI tools
Ø Design and Implement Hybrid Data Architecture for operational and
analytical reporting
Ø Maintain and version control data modeling repositories
Ø Responsible for detail Data analysis and translates Business requirements
into logical & physical data model.
Ø Works closely with the DBA’s to help insure the physical design meets the
functional and performance requirements of the application. 
Ø Experience re-engineering physical data structures, and recommends
efficiencies as it relates to data storage and retrieval 
Ø Full life cycle experience in Data Warehousing (good understanding of
Kimball & Inmon methodologies), Data Modeling, Data Integration / ETL, and
Master Data Management
Ø Leads complex technical data warehouse discussions on modeling, data
integration, and overall technology solutions and design
Ø Ability to create robust, scalable, sustainable data architecture that
supports requirements and provides for expansion given budgetary constraints
and availability of data and skilled resources
Ø Support and guide ETL and report development teams (offshore and onsite)
Ø Excellent communication (written and verbal).

Qualifications:
Ø 8-10+  years - Data Architecture / Modeling experience; delivering both
logical models and physical designs with extensive experience with
translating business needs into data requirements
Ø Data Warehousing lifecycle experience
Ø Experience building SQL Server Data Warehouse preferred
Ø A degree in Computer Science, a related discipline, equivalent work
experience of 7+ years overall IT or the equivalent combination of
education, training and experience from which comparable skills can be
acquired
Ø At least 3-5 years  experience with data modeling tools like ERwin, ER
Studio, Sybase PowerDesigner, Oracle Designer and/or other modeling tools
Ø Experience with Sybase PowerDesigner data modeling tool preferred
Ø Experience with normalized OLTP,MDM  and DW Dimensional modeling
techniques, Star & Snowflake schemas, modeling slowly changing dimensions
and role playing dimensions, dimensional hierarchies, and data
classification 
Ø Experience with maintaining data dictionary and managing technical,
process, and business metadata
Ø Experience with building a Data Warehouse from ground up preferred
Ø Experience in data modeling in a Freight Forwarding or log

Position Summary:



The Application Analyst - Data Specialist is responsible for leading in all
facets of the data modeling for application enhancements and existing
production systems of various sizes and complexities. The Data Specialist
performs many of these tasks independently and communicates with the
appropriate teams to ensure that assignments are delivered with the highest
of quality and in accordance to standards. The Data Specialist may complete
data modeling/analytics assignments when necessary to meet the needs of the
business.



 The data modeling/data administration group works with application teams
to develop data structures that meet the business requirements.  In
addition to this, the group maintains the data naming glossary, enforces
naming standards, ensures metadata definitions exist for all entities and
attributes, generates efficient SQL against master data entities, and
profiles and analyzes data to help design data models.  For SOA
applications, the data modeling group defines web services' inputs/outputs,
creates and maintains WSDLs and designs stored procedures.



 Essential Job Functions:



· Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models for OLTP,
DSS relational and DSS multidimensional database solutions.

· Develop and implement strategies and methodologies in support of
Master Data Management initiatives.

· Lead or actively participate in end-user requirement gathering
meetings

· Facilitate modeling sessions and design walk-throughs with DBA
and development team members

· Work with DBA to convert logical data models to physical data
models for implementation

· Gather and maintain accurate metadata in Erwin models.

· Work with Data Architecture team to ensure proposed database
implementation conforms to Kroger's corporate data strategy.

· Provide operational support for existing models including impact
analysis, logical and physical data model changes and metadata updates.

· Follow corporate best practices for Data Administration and Data
Modeling to support the corporate methodologies.

· Write efficient SQL and store procedures against database tables
on various platforms.

· Profile and analyze data during the application development.  Act
as a data SME for developers, testers and business analysts.

· Create and maintain the XML schema and collaborate with SOA
developers during WSDL creation.

· Tutor and mentor less experienced data models on data modeling
best practices.

*Description:

* This position will require the individual to*leverage existing 
technologies and develop new solutions*to deliver the*GIS*components of 
a*disconnected mobile application*. The candidate will have a broad 
knowledge of existing GIS technologies and will be capable of 
recommending the best solutions. This position will require the 
individual to expand on EVOLVING business requirements to ensure that 
proper technical solutions are designed and implemented. The successful 
applicants will have broad responsibilities for designing, building and 
implementing mission critical software to a 24X7 customer work 
environment. This position requires*STRONG SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT 
SKILLS*and technical leadership. In-depth PROGRAMMING and interpersonal 
skills will allow the applicants to play a major part in  strategic plan.


*DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

* -DEVELOP/recommend*basemaps*for a disconnected mobile application.
-DEVELOP routing solutions across multiple networks for a*disconnected 
mobile application.*
-DEVELOP these applications according to customer requirements, 
following BNSF development standards, for applications within Technology 
Services .
-Coordinate with other technical teams to*DEVELOP appropriate 
interfaces*and ensure quality and efficiency through capacity planning, 
performance assessment, and both integration and regression testing.
-Coordinate customer acceptance testing and ensure customer satisfaction 
through timely resolution of issues, regular status reports, and ongoing 
communication.


*BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:*

-*Significant DEVELOPMENT experience and EXPERT understanding of GIS 
technologies*

-DEVELOPMENT experience with*ArcGIS*Server and ArcGIS Runtime
-Experience working with*basemaps*in a disconnected mobile environment
-Experience building a routing application in a disconnected mobile 
environment
-Experience working with a team of developers to deliver high quality 
solutions

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
-Experience working with GIS software from multiple GIS vendors
-Some Graphic Design experience/talent is a plus
-Experience and/or Strong Understanding of developing applications 
for*WPF*and iOS

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with*C#,*Java,*JavaScript*, Dojo, and AJAX.
*Experience with Esri JavaScript API*

Location :Seattle, WA
Duration : 6 months
Phone interview to hire

Responsibilities:
-Create automated functional, regression, and stress test infrastructure
for Android platform features.
-Develop tools, infrastructure and frameworks to increase the automation
productivity of the team and add quality to our products
-Strong communication skills - Work closely with internal/cross functional
teams (QA, Development, Product Management, etc...) to help issues get
resolved
-Quickly ramp up on new projects and be able to multi task between
different projects as needed

Qualifications:
- 3+ Mobile testing experience (Android Platform is a strong plus)
- Strong experience in writing complete software test plans, test scripts,
test cases, and test automation.
- Technical understanding of wireless applications and network interactions
with handsets - e.g., browser, messaging, email, Application downloads,
etc., is highly desired
- Experience with mobile testing tools such as ADB
- Java/Android programming experience is a plus
- Automated Testing tool knowledge is required (Selenium/Load Runner/
Robotium/Android Monkey Runner/Junit)
- Basic understanding of Android APIs and Android build system.
- Experience with one or more version control like Git.
