The Asset Management Group (AMG) of AIG Inc. is seeking a Microsoft
Software Configuration Engineer. The role requires a person who is an
expert in TFS and knowledgeable in several other source code control
systems, can closely collaborate with development teams, help to automate
build, release, and packaging processes, and streamline migrations from
multiple Windows and Unix source code repositories. The application
platforms in use include implementations on Microsoft Windows and
Linux/Solaris Unix. The position is part of the Development Application
Support team and will require participating in the application deployment,
Autosys support, and applications monitoring work managed by the team.

AMG Application Development groups use an Agile-based software development
methodology where automation is applied to deployment and testing
processes. We are seeking candidates with prior working experience with
Agile methods (such as Extreme Programming and Scrum).

*Responsibilities *

·         Work with Development groups to properly organize new software
development projects. Help to automate build, packaging, continuous
integration, and deployment processes.

·         Train Developers in the use of TFS, its Integrated Development
Environment (IDE), and its associated tools. Advise Developers on the
proper use of TFS Work Items and build systems.

·         Help to administer source code control systems. Train other
administrators in the proper configuration of TFS, SharePoint, and
supporting tools.

·         Assist in the migration of multiple software projects managed in
in Visual Source Safe, StarTeam , and PVCS to TFS. Collaborate with
Development teams to migrate projects in a way that maintains change
history and appropriate permissions.

·         Use vendor tools, such as Timely Migration, VSSConverter, and
others, to complete migrations to TFS. Document (and automate where
possible) conversion processes to be repeatable and reliable.

·         Produce reports and statistics that allow for tracking progress
on source code migration projects.

*Requirements *

·         At least *5 years of experience working with Agile Development
groups to support multiple development environments. Working knowledge of
the Extreme Programming and Scrum methodologies. *

·         Prior experience managing TFS implementations for Microsoft
Windows (including C# / .Net) and Java-based applications.

·         Experience *supporting configuration management processes for
OpenLink Findur, Microsoft BizTalk, and proprietary applications that
integrate with banking and SWIFT messaging systems is strongly desired. *

·         Prior experience migrating application projects from other source
code control systems to TFS.

·         Experience implementing Team Explorer Everywhere (TEE) on Linux
and Solaris systems and integration with Kerberos authentication systems.
Experience implementing Team Web Access.

·         Must have the ability to quickly learn new scripting technologies
and techniques for automating development processes. Must have hands-on
experience in several scripting languages such as: Perl, PowerShell,
VBScript/WSH, Python, N/Ant, and Unix Shell.

·         Hands-on working knowledge in several of the following tools:
Microsoft Team Foundation Server and Visual Studio, Eclipse, the
StarTeam/CVS/PVCS/Subversion/Git source code control systems, make, N/Ant,
and Maven.

·         Experience coordinating build, release, continuous integration,
and deployment processes for multiple applications.

·         A BA/BS college degree in Computer Science and/or other
technology related academic topics.
