Job Title : ETL/Datawarehouse Developer Location : Washington, DC Duration : 12 Months Contract ****Only Local Consultants**** Job Description : Travel: Travel will be kept to a minimum and at the discretion of the WSDOT Supervisor. Any travel within Thurston County will not be billable or reimbursable. Any travel required outside of the said locations may be reimbursed at the then-current State travel rates if pre-approved in writing by the Manager of WSDOT ITD Data Resource Management. *Job Details* Work will be focused on developing and implementing extract, transform, and load processes needed to support WSDOT business processes and the department’s data warehouse as WSDOT converts to the statewide Time, Leave & Attendance (TLA) system. 1.2.1 *Required knowledge, skills and abilities * The contractor must have experience effectively using communication skills to achieve mutual understanding. Also, the contractor must be able to clearly communicate both orally and in writing to technical and non-technical audiences. The contractor is expected to have demonstrated skills and knowledge in the following areas: Creating and maintaining Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes using SQL Server Integration Services. Writing complex queries using Transact SQL for reporting and data validation purposes. Administering and/or managing Microsoft SQL Server 2000, 2005, 2008 r2, 2012 databases. Working with large organizations (over 1000 employees). Employing data warehouse principles and theories, including knowledge of the various tactical approaches to data warehouse development. *It would be desirable for the contractor to have demonstrated skills and knowledge in the following areas: * Creating and maintaining Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes using Informatica, including use of PowerCenter for SQL Server. Experience using PowerExchange for Mainframe ADABAS Tuning and optimizing SQL Server databases. d) Understanding database modeling and design principles and ability to use a data model diagram. Performing mainframe-to-server automation, bulk copy and FTP download. Programming in .Net. or COBOL and/or Natural running on an MVS/zOS platform.
