Determines and implements the most efficient and cost effective solution (e.g. codes new or modified programs, reuses existing code through the use of program development software alternatives or integrates purchased solutions). Acts as a liaison between clients and applications area. Analyses problems outlined by systems analysts in terms of detailed equipment requirements and capabilities. Verifies program logic by preparing test data for trial runs. Works with Systems Analysts, operations technical staff and IT staff, as appropriate, in the testing and debugging of programs and participates in the overall systems testing. In conjunction with operations area technical staff, supports the implementation of the application into production. May confer with technical personnel. Performs related duties as assigned or requested. Receives general supervision, and is competent to work at the highest level of technical phases of programming while working on own most of the time.
