Full Name : Work Authorization : Availability : Hourly Pay Rate : Current Location : Contact Number : Reason for job change : Duration : 6 Months Location : San Francisco, CA General Responsibilities: • Engineer, design, and evaluate new and current Splunk and Splunk-ES infrastructure. • Systems analysis and support for on-premise muti-tenant instances. • Provide extensive troubleshooting and technical expertise in identifying issues that impact service delivery. • Provide feedback and guidance to development teams for operational best practices • Utilize support expertise to set and improve existing standards for system administration, e.g., process, builds, monitoring, reporting, and documentation. Identify and solve difficult engineering issues. Determine Responsibilities: • Design, implement and support Enterprise and Security instances of Splunk and related Application Management systems as a member of a multi discipline team • Provide outstanding customer service through timely, high quality incident resolution with a focus on root cause analysis and prevention • Deliver and maintain highly available, well-performing systems through process improvement, proactive support and by driving best practices • Collaborate with project managers, architects and all levels of management to execute on strategic and tactical goals Qualifications: • Extensive experience of supporting mission-critical infrastructure applications required • Strong experience with SPLUNK setup and optimization • Strong knowledge of related Splunk applications – such as Splunk Deplyoment Server and Splunk-Hunk etc. • Windows and Linux operating systems in production environment. • Working knowledge of relational databases particularly Microsoft SQL and/or MySQL Server • Applied client and server-side scripting experience with PowerShell and one or more languages (i.ePerl, VBScript, XML, Java) Work Experience and Education Guidelines: • BS in Computer Science/ Engineering or equivalent education and experience required • Experience working in a complex and large-scale software environment • Experience with engineering/operations of Enterprise monitoring tools • Experience in software and hardware management tools a strong plus Core Competencies: • Demonstrated problem solving ability • Possess excellent written and oral communication skills • Exhibit a strong work ethic and technical leadership skills • Ability to digest, understand and support large enterprise distributed environments. Key Job Requirements • This position is local to downtown SF and has a requirement for full time presence. No remote work will be possible for the duration of the project. • Some travel to branch site in TX or AZ might be required.
