Job Title: Sr. Network Engineer (Security).

Location: Piscataway, NJ.

*Job Description: *
Specific responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Ø  Design, implementation, administration and maintenance of a number of
firewall (primarily Checkpoint) and VPN devices

Ø  Firewall upgrades as well as the day to day management of firewall
policies

Ø  Troubleshooting firewall/network issues including analysis of firewall
logs and interpretation of network traces

Ø  Assist with the architecture assessment and planning of the WAN
architecture and participate in the design of secure network segments for
Telcordia, including national and international sites

Ø  Network performance and configuration issue analysis and resolution

Ø  Device Implementation and administration

Ø  Network Monitoring and Troubleshooting

Ø  Mandatory On-call duties, (24 X 7) must wear a pager and extend daily
work hrs. when required.

Ø  The candidate must have solid communication and skills, both written and
verbal

Ø  Work in a team environment and collaborate

Ø  Functions will include support for the acquisition, installation,
upgrading and problem resolution for computing hardware resources such as
Telcordia owned or leased networked equipment




*Required Skills *

Ø  Prior experience setting up VPN connectivity with diverse devices

Ø  4+ years experience in some combination of firewall, intrusion detection,
network, or Unix system administration (Solaris or Linux)

Ø  At least 2 years Checkpoint firewall administration experience

Ø  Solid understanding and ability to read and interpret network traces
(i.e., tcpdump format) and have an understanding of higher level protocols
such as http, dns, smtp and rpc

Ø  Cisco, 4+ years experience configuring all levels of routers and switches

Ø  IPT implementation, network configuration and support

Ø  Experience in designing and implementing networks with Load Balancers
such as Foundry or Big IP (F5)

Ø  Experience with IPSEC VPN tunnels and Client to Gateway connectivity

Ø  Advanced networking skills (extensive knowledge of TCP/IP, L2 Switching,
EIGRP, BGP, L4-L7 networking)

Ø  Upgrade planning, IOS as well as general architecture protocol changes

Ø  Understanding of TCP/IP and IPX-SPX protocols (e.g., CSMA/CD 802.3,
10BASET, 10BASEFL,  100BASETX, 100BASEFX)

Ø  LAN/WAN design and troubleshooting (including packet analysis using
protocol analyzers

Ø  CISCO Routers & Switch Configuration

Ø  Implementation of VPN

Ø  Experience working with Leased-line/ISP, Frame-Relay, and DSL
connectivity

Ø  Configuration support of CSU/DSU and Mux equipment

Ø  Troubleshooting Network Layer 2 and 3 problems using Sniffers





*Plus Skills *

Ø  Knowledge of Network Security - Firewall, security configuration, some
experience and knowledge of functional interdependencies

Ø  CISCO, Avaya, or Nortel IP Telephony infrastructure experience a plus

Ø  CCNP certification will be a plus

Ø  Prior experience with Checkpoint's SPLAT platform or Checkpoint
certification is a strong plus
