Business Analyst Client: State of MN Job id:3926 Roseville, MN 12+ contract 3 references required for each candidate submitted. Business Need MDE has the need to supplement its staff with up to three individuals in a three year project to upgrade the student data collection systems at MDE. Supplemental staff needed include up to two experienced business analysts with excellent Web Focus skills and one developer with strong J2EE, XML and SQL skills. Selected individuals will join a team of MDE staff with responsibilities for the design, construction, testing, documentation, and application support. Project Deliverables -Work with business units to gather requirements for new student data collection to enable data connections among teachers, students and courses. -Produce meaningful code to help transition applications from COBOL programs to new J2EE platforms. -Assist in migration of data from legacy platforms -Help replace UI with Java based JSP pages -Create functional and technical requirements documents and specifications -Develop initial estimate details and level of effort including estimates of low and high hours and questions to be answered to solidify estimates. -Develop design documents including description of changes, flow chart of complex logic, required data base changes. -Attend project meetings as required. -Provide weekly status reports -Create new reports with staff data using WEB Focus -Assist with integration of Web Focus tools with new to be developed Student applications and existing MDE web applications that display staff data -Perform unit testing and system testing and document results.
