SPECIFIC DUTIES, ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design systems architecture including fault tolerance and high
availability solutions.

• Work with application project teams to provide feedback on designs and
gather requirements for the application server environment.

• Install the WebSphere Application Server software on Linux, Unix and
Windows based environments.

• Create and Modify WebSphere clusters required to implement the different
logical environments in the system development life cycle (dev, test, stage,
prod).

• Create and Configure application instances within each of the cells as
required.

• Configure Security as required (SSL, single sign-on, administrative,

• Configure the required web server (IIS, iPlanet, IHS) with the Application

Client is actively seeking a senior level Web sphere Admin/Engineer

Duration: 10+ month contract

Location: Chicago, IL.



Candidates will have the following minimum requirements:

5+ years experience in WAS 6.0, Websphere 6.1 installation, tuning and
troubleshooting

Strong working experience in the IHS/Apache Webserver installation and
tuning including plugin configuration
Knowledgable in the AIX and Linux operating systems
5+ years Experience in configuring and troubleshooting Websphere Application
server 6.0 & 6.1 in a multiple tier (firewall/load balancer) environment
Scripting, automation knowledge, portal experience, ESB/Websphere process
server a definite plus

Knowledge of Wily Introscope toolset 1-2 years

Identification of components in the websphere application server space,

Migration, installation, configuration and troubleshooting of websphere
application server instances

Configure websphere application server including global security, MQ,
Database and CICS transaction gateway

Participate in load tests to assess statistics successful migration

provide Provide technical leadership to team providing real-time operations
technical support for SOA related applications and technologies (WebSphere
Application server, Apache HTTP server, UNIX, web services, Web Content
Management, etc.) while escalating to team lead and management as
appropriate.
Provide technical leadership, coaching, and mentoring to junior team members

Accountable for technical environment in terms of issue resolution, quality
standards, continuous improvements.
Required to execute projects and complex changes, mentor junior team members
on less complex environment changes, daily monitoring and maintenance tasks.

Provides input to and implements unit/group continuous improvement and
standardization initiatives within area of responsibility.
Provides input into the coordination of work across internal technical
teams, client teams, hosting provider, and vendors.
Collaborating directly with client team members on technical architecture
decisions, day-to-day operational support, issue resolution & escalation
Primary point of contact for day-to-day client operations, point of

Maintain detailed understanding of all activities supported in the client

Need Websphere Admin with MQ Series Exp,NC

I am currently working on multiple openings (possibly as low as 3 but
potentially as high as 10) for Websphere Administrators for a large
financial client.  *  The individuals will be performing installation,
configuration and testing duties with Websphere MQ.  *The individual will be
able to start immediately (pending a background check) and the manager will
hire off a phone interview.  The contracts are slated to last at least 6
months.  Due to the tenured discount that we have with this particular
client, the highest bill rate I can do is $45/hour.  Please let me know if

**He is looking for a combination of experience (10+yrs) and, ideally, some
Websphere-based certifications**

Senior WebSphere Administrator needed to work with the Enterprise Risk
Management group and AIG Global Services in support of the Risk Management
departments of AIG. The incumbent should be extremely knowledgeable around
the administration and maintenance of the WebSphere Application Server (WAS)
platform.

Looking for a bright, outgoing, energetic individual with excellent
interpersonal skills who will also be able to work with a team as well as
one-on-one with end users. This individual will be required to document the
environment, update the configuration, tune the instance and remove
extraneous components as necessary.

Engagement tasks:
- Performance monitoring of the WAS
- Configuring the WAS for optimal performance
- Create a deployment script for deploying EAR files in an automated fashion

- Suggest and implement improvements for a robust WAS environment
- Adjust the interface between WAS and HIS
- Additional tasks as necessary

Requirements:
- 8+ years of Web Application Server Experience
- 6+ years of Unix experience (Solaris, Linux)
- 2 years of Oracle / MS SQL Server Experience
- Perl, Shell scripting (CSH/KSH), JACL
- Familiarity with Exceed or other X Windowing Software
