Data Archive Developer for a 3 year project

Location : Seattle, WA




Job description:
Our client is doing a large Data Archiving project and they need resources
with strong experience with Oracle Database, Unix, Unix Scripting, SQL and
PL/SQL skills. We're looking for a blend of experience with DBA/Apps DBA.
Experience leading a team is preferred. Must be willing to learn Optim
Archiving tool. Good Communication skills is a must.

Critical Requirements:
Oracle Application DBA skillset - Knowledge of Object structure, System
Catalog, Query Performance, PL/SQL, Import/Export, SQL*Loader, Remote
Database using Database Links, Heterogeneous database environments using
ODBC.

Extensive knowledge of Oracle SQL

Familiarity with various types of SQL (SQL Server, DB2, Teradata)

Extensive UNIX (Solaris, Linux preferred) skillset- Shell Scripts, basic
UNIX Commands, Unix Monitoring commands, understanding of volumes, UNIX
ODBC/JDBC installation/configuration, other Application
installation/configuration in UNIX environment

Knowledge of Heterogeneous database mix -the candidate must have more than
one db platform experience (SQL Server, Sybase, DB2, or Informix is
preferred). The candidate must have HANDS ON experience in being a DBA on
another platform. Merely interfacing with another DB platform is NOT that
same thing as managing it.

Experience with processing data stored in Flat Files, XML files. The
candidate have experience analyzing AND processing the data within the
flatfile or XML. Just uploading a file or converting into these formats to
another format is NOT acceptable.

Experience on reporting tools like Oracle APEX, SSRS

Experience on Web Technologies including PHP, HTML, Apache, Javascripts

Communication - candidates must be able to speak clearly and work as a team
