So, someone very experienced, and polished. Part of a $100 mill / 3 yr initiative. Architecting a mid-to-back office (securities operations) system... allocations, settlements, clearance, etc. Global project. Candidate needs to be well-spoken; create technical documentation, present in mtgs (also facilitate them); liaise with various levels of mgmt thurout the firm. This position is 'in between' enterprise architecture and application architecture. *Ideal candidate is someone that was a strong coder in Java/J2EE for about 6-7 yrs, then became an architect for 3-4 yrs (minimum). 10+ years type of candidate is the level of expertise they are after. Will be involved in strategy, designing framework, advising on process, etc. Example - should they use 1 infrastructure that's shared, or use 1 for each region* *Skills & Experience Required: * § Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline preferred. § *8+ years experience in the Financial Services industry, with a similar role and competencies in their recent career.* § Strong understanding of front-to-back trade processes and financial products with specific focus around securities operations processing. § Resiliency to adapt to change and implement changes rapidly, always seeking continuous innovation and improvement § The successful candidate will need a solid development background with experience in successful delivery. He/she will also need strong architecture and design experience gained across a variety of technologies and business areas. § *Architects need to be able to deal with any of the myriad technologies in use at CS, so good knowledge of legacy, current, and emerging technologies is essential. The successful candidate will have practical development experience with Java/J2EE, and operating systems (Windows, Linux, Solaris).* § In order to provide authoritative advice to development teams, practical experience developing enterprise-class systems is a requirement. Knowledge of enterprise middleware technologies (e.g., JMS, CORBA, MQSeries) some experience of database design and implementation is also necessary (Oracle experience is required, Sybase would be a plus). § *A **core component of PTT Architecture is a IBM Mainframe based set of applications. Understanding of this environment is preferred.* § Good communication skills are essential, both in working with internal clients, and in producing reports and contributing to the technical standards / assets managed by the Architecture Team. An ability to provide leadership on key architectural issues thru networking and influencing, and to gain consensus when faced with differing views is essential. *Proposition:* The establishment of architecture is seen as a key enabler of the CSII program. This role is critical to the success of the program. Working with the CSII development managers the Architect will look to identify common processes across CSII functions and define and execute against a common architecture.
