The Front End Developer is experienced in transforming data into the vision of REI’sInteraction Designers, Information Architects,and various Software Engineersto create interactive features that deliver exceptional customer experiences forREI. The Front End Developer will be accountable forvarious levels of complexity fromnew site enhancements, application development, mobile web development, coding for accessibility, search engine optimization, performance optimization, pattern library development and incident response. The FrontEndDeveloper serves as a critical player in defining the implementation of all features and functionality. Models and acts in accordance with REI’s guiding values and mission. (the plans the job is responsible for creating and executing, and how the job ensures they are implemented) · Develops features,functions,and templateswith standards-compliant HTML, CSS and JavaScript · Working knowledge of CSS pre-processors such as LESS and SASS · Creates JSP templates and has knowledge of varying templating technologies · Implements JavaScript libraries such as jQuery, Lodash, Knockout, Handlebars and Nunjucks to name a few.
