*Job Description:*
1. PURPOSE:
The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for building and maintaining the
company’s application systems which involve a broad range of technologies.
The candidate should have solid knowledge of Linux Systems with an innate
ability to troubleshoot issues in a complex, multi-tier architecture.
2. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide production support and be available for rotating 24x7 on call
support.
Participate in problem resolution and system enhancements.
Work closely with developers to deploy program and configuration
changes to application production environments.
Need to be able to work closely with vendors,application development,
business users
Documents the application environments and configurations.
Establish, document and maintain runbooks for application
infrastructure, monitoring, maintenance, and security.
Review storage growth trends and plan future storage requirements for
the applications
Implementing and managing best practices for object migration and
system security
Ensuring SOX compliance and satisfying audit requirements
Installation, configuration, patching of application environments
Developing Scripts and great ideas to automate system deployment to
scale infrastructure
3. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
Strong troubleshooting skills and experience with Microsoft-based or
Linux operating systems, services, applications, SQL Server databases,
environments and architectures
OS: Windows and Linux (HPUX and AIX would be a
plus)
Middleware: .NET, Apache, Websphere, IIS, Java JRE
Experience with Automation and Release Tools
Understanding of principles of scaling/capacity, high availability,
agile deployment
Strong decision making and problem solving skills
Multitasking on different issues and solutions
Excellent English communications skills
Ability to work in a very fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Position requires availability during off hours for emergencies and
deployments
Demonstrated leadership and attention to detail skills through prior
experience at the tactical / implementation levels
Experience with a scripting language.
