May be in future we can get in touch.**** * **Role : Unix Engineer* *Location : Seattle, WA* *Duration : 6 Months Contract* ** ** *Description:* 1. Install, configure, troubleshoot, and performance tune Sun UNIX, and Linux based hosts. 2. Evaluate and install new software releases, perform system upgrades, evaluate and install patches and resolve system related problems. 3. Work jointly with fellow IT staff to install, configure, troubleshoot, and performance tune system connectivity. 4. Ensure system availability through proactive management of UNIX and Linux systems. 5. Manage system resource availability to ensure optimal performance. 6. Manage capacity planning process to account for future growth and resource requirements. Work with IT management to budget capacity upgrades. 7. Administer Storage Area Network. 8. Maintain host security in accordance with company standards and industry best practices. This includes but is not limited to deployment of appropriate security patches, hot fixes, vulnerability scans and software and firmware upgrades. 9. Work with other IT staff members to automate management tasks, streamline processes and perform standard administration functions as needed. 10. IT disaster recovery planning in relationship to UNIX and Linux systems. 11. Take lead in the development of standards, procedures, and tools that standardize the functioning of the systems and software and in accordance with company standards and industry best practices. 12. Perform and adhere to established policies, standards, and procedures. 13. Lead the resolution of system and software issues related to the company’s UNIX and Linux systems. 14. Work with fellow IT staff to provide training and technical support to the user community on use of IT services. 15. On-call responsibilities as required. 16. Obtain and/or maintain technical certifications necessary for continued company growth and success. 17. Perform additional duties as assigned by management. • Ability to evaluate critical systems, prioritize work, and determine solutions • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Excellent familiarity with UNIX operating systems. • A firm understanding of these technologies: • ****Enterprise**** database technologies (Oracle, Microsoft). • Microsoft Windows operating systems. • IIS or Apache web server architecture. • Backup software installation, configuration, and operation. • TCP/IP. • UNIX shell scripting and other scripting languages. • Data center technologies including enterprise monitoring and event management. • Strong familiarity with SAN technologies, including both fiber and iSCSI implementations. • Working knowledge of VMware preferred. • Strong project management skills • Strong security knowledge and ability for securing and maintaining data for safety and to meet or exceed standards required by HIPAA, Sarbanes/Oxley and applicable regulatory requirements. • Technical expertise of personal computing systems, peripheral equipment, and applications • Strong troubleshooting skills • Strong organizational skills • Ability to work well under various urgent and time sensitive situations. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Strong attention to detail**** ** ** **** **** Click here to view current job openings.<http://www.maxhire.net/cp/?E15E6A361D43515B7D501329> **** * * *Thanks & Regards, Bhageerath| Sr. Resourcing Specialist SYSTEL INC.
