Hello Viateur and all members:
The beautiful and fragant C. gaskelliana occurs in the nor-oriental portion of our country, mainly  find very near Caripe, a little and fresh town of the Monagas state, but very wide distributed around that zone. I think you can see a distribution map, looking www.orquideariocerroverde.com where we put some maps distribution of the venezuelan cattleyas.
Hope it will help.

Best growing!

Hello OGDers

Does the species Cattleya gaskelliana occur in Colombia ?

I have the following reference that indicates a Colombian distribution :
The Cattleyas and Their Relatives, volume 1, The Cattleyas, p.60.

I presume that it is the source that supports the indication of a Colombian
distribution in the
World Checklist of Monocotyledons Database (RBG, Kew).

Do you have collection data that would confirm that the species do occur in
Colombia ?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Regards,

Viateur
