Either Mavrik or Avid should work well on flat mites, Ultra fine oil will also work if you know it's safe on your genera.

[OGD] Flat mites

I've had good results with neem oil for controlling mites on Myrmecodia 
tuberosa (Rubiaceae) and Juanulloa mexicana (Solanaceae).  I haven't used it 
on many orchids, but I haven't noticed any toxicity on those that I have 
tested.

[OGD] flat mites

I'm curious to know what other members of the digest have done in the past
to rid their plants of flat mites. I may be wrong, but these are minute,
reddish coloured mites, barely visible unless under at least a hand lens? I
have a few orchids that are HEAVILY infested with them, seems like it's
mostly the oncidiums and their hybrids.
