[Origami] 4 new tutorials for you to enjoy

2018-06-01 Thread Sara Adams
Hi everybody,

I hope you're all enjoying a wonderful spring. We've got beautiful, summery
weather here, with thunderstorms in the evening to cool down the air. So,
really, perfect weather for folding during the daytime, and watching
tutorials in the evening. :)
So it's about time I send you an overview of the tutorials I've uploaded in
the past two months.

1. Old English Sheepdog (Steven Casey)
Steven is a master of designing great origami dog models, so it was a
pleasure to present another one of them. Thanks, Steven, for all the work
you do and your generosity in sharing this design with me and everyone else!

2. Box with a Hydrangea Lid (Shuzo Fujimoto)
Ah, I've made quite a bunch of videos on Shuzo Fujimoto's Hydrangea and
variations of it. But I can't seem to stop. I simply love this design so
much! And when Meenakshi Mukerji suggested a "hydrangea box", I simply
couldn't resist. Thanks, Meenakshi, for this suggestion, and also sharing
your notes with me and everyone else. They are available here:

3. Singing Frog (Daniel Chang)
During last year's BOS convention, Daniel showed me how to fold his Singing
Frog and I immediately had to ask him about a potential video. The model is
so fun and cute and a pure pleasure to play with. He agreed and I quickly
made some photos while folding the model, so I wouldn't forget the folding
sequence. And a mere half a year later ;) I finally got to making said
video. Enjoy - and of course also visit Daniel's various pages featuring
his stunning work: his website http://keepfoldingon.com/ , his Flickr
stream https://www.flickr.com/photos/mitanei/ , his Instragram

Thanks, Daniel, for your gorgeous creations, which continue to take my
breath away and your permission to share this more whimsical model with
everyone!

4. Pinwheel Star (Dáša Ševerová)
Action models seem to be addictive, as I followed the singing frog with a
tutorail on a pinwheel star. It's one of the models in Dasa's new book that
immediately caught my attention. It looks beautiful by itself, but I was
pleased to see that you could easily make a working pinwheel out of it, too.
Diagrams are published "Origami Journey: Into the Fascinating World of
Geometric Origami", which you can read a bit more about at

Also be sure to check out Dasa'sc Flickr stream
https://www.flickr.com/photos/dasssa/ , her Facebook page
https://www.facebook.com/papeRain and her Etsy shop

Thanks, Dasa, for a wonderful, new book, which you obviously put a lot of
work into (it shows!), and your permission to share the pinwheel star with
everyone in a video. To thank Dasa, do check out the book - I'm sure many
won't be able to resist buying it. One for you, and perhaps a couple for
your origami friends. :)

I also shared some personal news last time I wrote - namely that my
husband, my two boys and (of course!) me are expecting a baby. So far he's
still quite comfortable in my belly, but this could change any day now. So
I might take a break from making videos soon, but no worries, I'll be back.
:)

Until then I wish you all the best and happy folding,

-- Sara

Dawn Tucker asked for inflatable variations on the water bomb model. I'm not
familiar with most of the ones she listed, but I note that the Golden Snitch is
not on her list.

Also the Inflatable Cat that Kathleen Sheridan taught for Origami Connect.

[Origami] Variations on a classic

2018-06-01 Thread Dawn Tucker via Origami
I'm looking for inflatable variations on the water bomb model. I have the
rabbit, goldfish, stellated octahedron, chick, and snail with water bomb shell.
(Jeremy Shafer's heart model inflates, but has a different folding sequence.) I
know I've seen at least one other, but I can't remember what it was. What else
is just a little different from the water bomb, and is also inflated to
complete?
Thanks in advance! I always appreciate your help!
