I have this episode in digital form. When I have a bit of time I'll
post a segment or two.

[Origami] Akira Yoshizawa reference

2013-10-22 Thread Paper Dragon

I concur with Joseph Wu, the Jackie Chan cartoon had a villain "Origami Man".
His secret identity was Kunihiko Kasahara. I had posted about seeing the
cartoon when it was first shown. Dee, I was watching just like your kids back
then. Shortly after it shown and repeated, Kasahara was a guest at the OUSA
Convention in NYC. I gave him a video tape copy of the show - yes it was that
long ago that video tapes were common. He told me that it was the second time
that he had appeared in a cartoon.

Sorry. Accidentally hit send. Anyway, I saw that episode. The villain's name
was Kunihiko Kasahara.

Once my kids were watching cartoons (many years ago since they are both n
their 20s now) and started yelling for me. When I went to see what was
going on - they told me that the bad guy on Jackie Chan was Akira
Yoshizawa!! I didn't realize I had talked about him often enough for them
to have remembered.

I looked it up just now - and they don't mention the villain's name, but
the episode is called "Origami" and the villain is an art thief that can
fold himself into different things.(And it was only 12 years ago ... so
they would have been 11 and 9 :-)
