I was asking for the name of a lotus flower model and its creator. Sy Chen
replied that a similar variation is often used in Taiwanese funerals.

Does that make the 18 unit variation you posted a traditional model? In
that case can we assume that the 12 unit one that I asked for a variation
of a traditional model, and it basically has no creator?

Actually, a similar variation of this design has been heavily used in
Taiwanese funeral.
They are placed in the coffin for cremation. Each flower is comprised of
three parts held together by a red string.
Each flower requires at least eighteen pieces of paper money for the dead,
with every 2 petals represented by one piece of paper.
