Boesner sells "Steinpapier" (stone paper) that claims to be made from 80%
limestone powder, not using any wood. It is basically impossible to rip and
very heavy. I know a couple Origami friends (f.e. Melina Hermsen, Daniel
Chang) who work with it, but personally I didn't see the value. For me it
feels and behaves very weird.

Nice Greetings

A friend of mine uses “stone paper” to make really cool geometrical origami
flower pots. I don’t know the exact source, though…. he buys it somewhere in
Mexico City.

I tried something called stone paper, thinking “stone” signaled “resistant to
fire”. However, it burned happily, clearly containing a fair amount of plastic
or the like.

You might use it for boats to go into water. I am not sure how it would perform
outdoors for a longer time exposed to rain and sun, I would not be too
expectant, but you might try it out.
