[osdcmy-public] Recommended netbook for FreeBSD/Linux
Hi folks, In the midst of a purchasing decision for a portable netbook that runs either FreeBSD or Ubuntu (pref. Xubuntu). It has to be light 1.5kg, doesn't have a battery that protrudes out like a pot belly and has either Atom N- or Neo CPU. Also it has to be able to boot from USB as I plan to use a live OS on a USB flash drive. a hi-res screen i.e. 1366x768 is alright as well. Usage? Just typical web browsing and some light on-the-go C and python programming. I've taken a look at Latitude 2110 which looks good but I'm hoping to solicitate other ideas. -- Thank you for your time, Ihsan Junaidi Ibrahim -- Join Open Source Developers Club Malaysia http://www.osdc.my/ Facebook Fan page http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=98685301577 http://www.facebook.com/OSDC.my You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups OSDC.my Mailing List group. [osdcmy-public] Java EE Midlife Crisis - How To Make The Best Of It
Java EE Midlife Crisis - How To Make The Best Of It MSC Malaysia Open Source Conference 2010 http://conf.oss.my/ Java Enterprise Edition has been going through a mid-life crisis: it tries to stay young (and hip) despite its age. Just like any one having a mid-life crisis, they are easy to take advantage of. In this paper we will look how these features can used and exploited to our own advantage. Provide it a powerful motorbike, a lether jacket and a pair of shades (asynchronous processing, JBPM and Quartz) and you can't really tell its age nor the maturity it keeps on the back pocket just in case you need it.
