Re: [osdcmy-public] Visit by Adaxa team to Malaysia
with regards to reference site, we already have several writeups bayu cahya has already published his book based on the context of the garment manufacturing factory that he works for red1, has also written his piece from the context of the overall development community i have written a short blog post here : http://rajaiskandarshah.blogspot.com/2010/05/adempiere-34-erp-solutions-by-bayu.html if you kind enough to click through and buy, then i get a nice commission ;-) if you want it cheap, get a copy from red1 ;-) with regards to vis-a-vis myob and ubs - i am keen on using the adempiere framework and rebuilding all the forms and reports so that it can have that ubs / myob / peachtree / quickbooks user interface / experience. myob / ubs / peachtree / quickbooks sells millions of copies all over the world. if we can hit that ui experience sweet spot, then write a book / manual / guide for it. this can be a serious contender for the sme market. and a sap killer. just imagine, the ease of use of the small accounting system but the scalability of sap. at the moment, adempiere is too cumbersome for sme. the adempiere framework already has that flexibility to enhance the ui experience. i know this is feasible, as i had 3 of my staff to tinker with adempiere on their own for 3 months. with ubs/myob/peachtree/quickbooks, a user can easily produce an invoice in 15 seconds. with the current adempiere, we will be lucky to even get anywhere less than 30 seconds. Re: [osdcmy-public] Visit by Adaxa team to Malaysia
hi, ERP is a complex subject... and something I claim to know very little of,... but what would be useful is this. 1. Run thru a 'case study' of a ERP implementation plan for a business of meduim complexity, eg: a SME with few hundred employees and a few locations. This serves a few objectives: a. give potential Adempiere adoptees a 'feel' for the sophistication of the product.. so they know is not MYOB, UBS or any of those acctg pkgs b. give an indication of the complexity of implementing a ERP, so the DIY guys know its not like MYOB UBS ;-) and why its worthwhile to pay for services. 2. Look at the Business Processes for implementing and maintaining an ERP, ie: planning, type of work included, customization etc... The purpose of this is a. to analyze the 'value chain' of Adempiere, and see where services/support are needed and hence provide revenue opportunities. b. potential Adempiere service providers can get an idea of the complexity of tasks involved and therefore gauge level of commitment and specialisation. Too much to ask? hey, I want to know too... and I guess so wld many ppl. So perhaps Adaxa wld need to run a wkshop as well as give a talk! ;-) ...and they wld open up many opportunities. [osdcmy-public] Visit by Adaxa team to Malaysia
Dear all, I was just on Skype with Adaxa Australia (http://www.adaxa.com.au/) which is a prominent ADempiere partner with such reference site as http://www.intouchdirect.com.au/ Steven Sackett, its senior partner and financials expert with extensive experience is producing a whitepaper on the reference project and will be willing to visit Malaysia and speak with those of similar interest in looking at ADempiere Open Source ERP in high-worth sector practice and comparison with other proprietary or commercial open source solutions. Would any party here be interested? If so please contact me directly and we try to organise it somewhere on their availability on 3rd week of June 2010. Kind Regards Redhuan D.
