Re: [osg-users] [3rdparty] OSG Composer released

2009-12-18 Thread James Bradbury
Hi,

Yeah i have had a look at it, but i would like to move the model using a big
text file of data as the position values will be taken from real life sensor
data

Thank you!

Cheers,
James

Re: [osg-users] [3rdparty] OSG Composer released

2009-12-18 Thread Ashraf Sultan
Hi,

The free version is still available, it can be downloaded from
http://www.simlab-soft.com/Products_files/OSGComposerLite.exe

We did hide it as many none OSG users are now using, some of them found the
difference between the two confusing.

OSG Composer Lite is very similar in functionality to OSG Composer CAD
The only difference is that OSG Composer CAD supports additional formats like
SolidWorks, SketchUp, Rhino, IGES and STEP, also it supports exporting to other
formats like OBJ and 3D PDF.

For most OSG developers the Lite version which includes all original OSG
Plug-ins should be enough.

Regarding animating SolidWorks, in the current release animation and scripting
is not supported.

Animation support and SolidWorks 2010 support will be available soon.

Cheers,

Ashraf

Hi James,

Sorry to go off on a bit of a tangent as I don't know the answer to
your question, but, didn't Simlab offer a free version of osg Composer
at some point? I can't seem to find it any more and it would be handy
to have.

Kim.

 Hi,

... i am trying to animate a solidworks model based on real position
translation data and was looking at osg composer to do this, is there anyway
of moving a part from a solidworks assembly using a script? i.e. to move leg
 10cm in x plane, 5 in y and 0 in z

 Thank you!

 Cheers,

OSG Composer Lite, is our gift to the great OSG community, we hope
 you like it. http://www.simlab-soft.com/Products.html

Gee, this looks good, but no Linux version? Even though there is a Mac
one? I am sure there would be customers for Linux version too, this type
of work is done mostly on Windows and Linux these days.
