it's probably unrelated, but GRASS 7.8.1 is compiled with GDAL 3.0 and PROJ 6.0.

next daily builds (32/64bit) should be built against GDAL3/PROJ6.

[osgeo4w-dev] qgis2.18 in osgeo4w plan

2019-01-18 Thread Martin Landa
Hi,

I would like to ask if there is any plan to provide qgis2.18 package
in osgeo4w framework after qgis3.4 become LTR. In Feb 22 [1], if I
understand well become:

* qgis-ltr -> 3.4
* qgis -> 3.6

The question is whether there is any plan to provide after this change
also qgis2.18 package, eg. `qgis2`. In this case I could prepare
special grass package compatible with qgis2, eg. grass-qgis2.

The is also question which GRASS version will be used for qgis2.18.28
packaging. There is GRASS 7.4.4, on Feb 17 has been released GRASS
7.6.0. The package of 7.6.0 is currently in Expr area (test). QGIS
2.18 seems to be prepared for GRASS 7.6.0 [2], I am not sure if
tested. I would leave decision on QGIS packager whether to use GRASS
7.4.4 or GRASS 7.6.0. Please just inform me when I can move 7.6.0
version from `test` to `curr`.

Thanks, Ma

I am not sure what you mean by changing my mind, anyway I was thinking
to provide 64bit package also for already released 7.0.2 version. It
would require to locally apply quite larger number of patches which
has been applied recently in relbr70. Moreover 64bit are still
experimental and need some testing. So I suggest to test grass-daily
builds from osgeo4w first of standalone installer of grass703svn [1]
and grass71svn [2]. I will publish both 32bit and 64bit stable
installer/packages for 7.0.3 when it will be released (middle of

currently you can test 64bit edition by installing `grass-daily`

yes, so it's seems to me that there is missing corresponding "regex"

[osgeo4w-dev] cygwin and osgeo4w

Hi all,

I am trying to build GRASS for OSGeo4W using Cygwin environment. I
have ended up with

configure:5397: gcc -o conftest.exe -g -O2-I/usr/include
-I/cygdrive/c/OSGeo4W64/include

conftest.c -lproj 1>&5
/bin/ld: warning: --export-dynamic is not supported for PE+ targets,
did you mean --export-all-symbols?
Warning: corrupt .drectve at end of def file
Warning: corrupt .drectve at end of def file
/cygdrive/c/OSGeo4W64/lib/proj.lib(pj_pr_list.obj):(.text+0x9a):

It's not apparently a good idea to mix cygwin and osgeo4w libs, right?

I found apt-get.py/bat (which also doesn't work) already in my osgeo4w

for it. This version works for me.

I would guess that wxpython needs to be built against python version
distributed in OSGeo4W framework. Well, I am a GNU/Linux guy ;-)

I took position of maintainer of wxpython package from Jeff.
Unfortunately I had *no* time for this task in the last weeks. I will
do my best to update wxpython with next days. Sorry for delay.

OK, are there any plans when python2.5 will replaced by python2.7 from testing?

[osgeo4w-dev] python - vs 2003

2011-09-13 Thread Martin Landa
Hi all,

I am trying to build new wxpython package for osgeo4w. In osgeo4w shell I run

python setup.py build

which end up with

running build_ext
error: Python was built with Visual Studio 2003;
extensions must be built with a compiler than can generate compatible binaries.
Visual Studio 2003 was not found on this system. If you have Cygwin installed,
you can try compiling with MingW32, by passing "-c mingw32" to setup.py.

I have installed VS 2008 Express, unfortunately I didn't find VS 2003
Express available for free download. Any pointers for lost GNU/Linux
user?

Thanks in advance, Martin

right, but after that I see only configuration for 2005 [1], maybe
it's unrelated. Anyway the problem is still there and it's blocking
packaging of winGRASS:-(

I found bunch of directories with weird names (sorry for my ignorance,
I am windows anti-user, who uses this system time to time for
compiling GRASS) - no idea where this info could be hidden. BTW, I
found msvcr90.dll in `Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio

[osgeo4w-dev] mscvr90

2011-08-27 Thread Martin Landa
Hi,

after the last update of my OSGeo4W environment I have problem with
compiling GRASS. First it complained about missing mscvr90.dll, then
about mscvp90.dll. I have downloaded both files from
http://dll-files.com and put them to osgeo4w\bin. Unfortunately it
didn't helped a lot, see error message [1].

Do you know how to fix this issue? Thanks in advance, Martin
