Yannati, who attended Friday prayers in the University of Tehran, asserted the Muslim world should back politically and financially the Lebanese and the Palestinian people, according to IRNA. "Every dirham, dinar or rial targeting this cause is the best donation for the jihad (Muslims' holy war) of the God's path," he noted. The ayatollah also lambasted the passive conduct of the UN and the Security Council, which he described as weak and under the influence of the US government, since they are not even able to issue one resolution against Israel. "However, they have no problem in condemning Iran and its right to peacefully use nuclear energy," he contended. Ahmad Yannati slammed the UN silence about the Israeli army's onslaught in Palestine and Lebanon, calling to shut down the doors of that organization.
