"Germany indirectly involved in Iran-Iraq war" LONDON, November 10 (IranMania) - The German government has admitted that its navy was indirectly involved in the Iraq war, the online daily Netzeitung said. Responding to a parliamentary inquiry by the radical leftist Linke Party,the German Defense Ministry confirmed that its navy had escorted US and British naval vessels on several occasions after the start of the American-led Iraq invasion on March 19, 2003. The German Defense Ministry conceded that German naval vessels which were assigned at the Horn of African as part of the anti-terror mission 'Operation Enduring Freedom', escorted US naval ships at least nine times through the Bab al Mandeb sea zone at the Gulf of Aden during the first two weeks after the outbreak of the Iraq war.
