Brink steht im Visier von Hedgefonds-Aktivist Warren Lichtenstein. Steel
Partners, der Fonds von Lichtenstein, hat 8% an Brink erworben. Das
Volumen entspricht einem Investment von 152 Millionen Dollar.Das
Unternehmen bietet Sicherheitslösungen und Services, wie gepanzerte
Fahrzeuge und Alarmsysteme. Auf dem Gebiet der Gebäudesicherung ist
Brink Nummer Zwei in den USA.Steel Partners und Warren Lichtenstein sind
bekannt für massive Eingriffe in die Unternehmensführung und die
Zusammensetzung des Managements.

Northrop Grumman kauft Essex für $580 Mio
Der Rüstungskonzern Northrop Grumman Corp. traf eine Übereinkunft zur
Übernahme von Essex Corp. für 580 Millionen Dollar. Bei Essex handelt es
sich um einen Hersteller von hochtechnisierten Verteidigungsprodukten.
Der Preis je Aktie liegt bei 24 Dollar in bar. Dies entspricht gegenüber
dem Schlusskurs der Essex-Papiere von Mittwoch einem Aufschlag von 20%.
Wie Northrop am Mittwoch nach Börsenschluss weiter mitteilte, haben die
im Besitz von 11% der Essex-Anteile befindlichen Hauptaktionäre bereits
für den Deal votiert. Die Übernahme soll im ersten Quartal 2007
vollendet werden und ab 2008 für einen positiven Gewinnbeitrag sorgen.
Essex schossen nachbörslich um 17,12% uf 23,40 Dollar nach oben.

Rüstungsaktien mit Verlusten nach Rücktritt von Rumsfeld
Amerikanische Rüstungshersteller geraten nach dem Rücktritt von Donald
Rumsfeld unter Druck. Lockheed Martin fällt 2%, General Dynamics und
Rytheon ebenfalls 2% und Northrup Grummann rund 1,6%. Alle Unternehmen
gehören zu den größten Lieferanten des US Militärs.
