So you already had contact to the amazon guys?

What is their answer on your error report?

Yes, reformat!
Also SD-cards, USB-sticks oor SSD's can and sometimes must be reformatted.
Formatting has nothing to do with something mechanical. It prepares a disk
system compatible with the OS that needs to use it, be it Fat12/16/32/ExFat
or Ext2/3/4, or ReiserFS, or Btrfs or NTFS or zfs or .. or ...
There are even special filesystems for flahs memory like yaffs, f2fs and
the like.

Please google for more info and see why you sometimes MUST reformat an
SD-card.

reformat the SD-card?
we are not talking about physical disks - it's memory addresses!

Nope that does not change the behaviour at all... It's just a very long
time until it starts and the map is shown.

osmand plus v2.3.5 - manage maps = crash

2016-06-24 Thread 'Alan Johnston' via Osmand
Update.
If I completely remove osmand from my phone and install osmand free 2.3.5 from
google play store, It works.
If I install osmand 2.3.5 from amazon, it doesn't work.
Bad news for me. I bought osmand+ from amazon.
So now I can only use free version from Google with limited downloads. Not able
to use the plus version I paid for. :(

Live updates: clarification

2016-06-24 Thread Mirco Zorzo
Hi, if I set the live updates to once a week after 2 months i get 8 update.
That are stored in the memory storage.
The file of the map receive updates every month (non the live updates i
mean) so if I make the update of the whole map after two month the 8 little
weekly files of the live update that are stored in the device will be
deleted? I think this must be the correct behavior.

Thanks a lot.

Mirco
